This is an educational eBook for children around eight years of age. The cartoon characters are very cute and fill the story full of answers about The Pacific Ocean. The story is not too long and really tells a great story about the history and facts of the largest Ocean. You will fall in love with these characters created by Joe Oriolo. Joe was the creator of Casper the friendly ghost and produced the Felix the cat series in 1950s. Professor Beethoven who always wears his graduation cap is the star of the story. Barnacle Bill who has problems hearing makes this story funny.
Kat nap who looks just like Top cat from Hannah Barbera is big and bright orange in the few scenes he is drawn perfectly. Tad the frog who is also a perfect looking green frog with glasses is the curious character always asking questions about the Ocean. Barnacle Bill the wise old sailor has tons of funny stories. The relationship between the characters is very unique as Professor Beethoven has most of the answers and is a great teacher for children. The child can see by the pictures of how The Pacific Ocean covers the Earth. The part about The International date line is very educational and really gets the reader's attention. The dangers of The Ocean are also explained with vivid looking pictures. Let's not forget about the fish in The Pacific Ocean and there is even a part in there about over-fishing. Because there so many facts about The Pacific Ocean the book has a section called Professor Beethoven's Magic Book of Knowledge (JUST THE FACTS KIDS) at the end of the book. I thought that was very clever for the child who may have problems remembering facts and history. I think this kids eBook is probably the best online book for The Pacific Ocean. A lot of time was taken to draw these perfect pictures. I definitely recommend Professor Beethoven's First Adventure.
